THIS MOMENT by Anni McCann
Track 4
This Moment

I remember the granite heat, the smooth marbled surface beneath us. The air cooled and the sun dipped behind high weathered rock walls casting shadows. The sky a brilliant blue and below us the river drifting endlessly onward. Like eagles, we perched on a precipice, radiant and watching from within. Enveloped in a silence pierced by the solitary song of a thrush, which seemed to float on every inch of air and brush against your dark skin and mine pale. Everything vibrating to her sound repeating and echoing down the water carved canyon, conjuring up images of celestial choirs hidden amidst the tall clustered pines. Ooohh…All the lost hours, days, weeks with you, swept away by strong currents of time and deep sleep, all offered up in wondrous return for this now resounding moment.
"Sitting above the Yuba with my dear friend, finding in a moment that which we share in common with all things; a communion. Boundaries dissolve into the present."
