How I love to feel the raindrops on my cheek, 

for they help to wash away old memories. 

And the breeze, she gently runs her fingers through my hair 

as I walk along the road to who knows where.

And I’ll greet a stranger like a friend of mine, 

sittin’ down and telling stories for a time. 

In the moment we will share 

the beauty of this world, 

then turn away and leave it all behind.

​

Sit by my fire, rest your weary head a while, 

listen to the music of the wind. 

We’re not alone, we have our songs. 

I hold them in my heart where all of love abounds.

​

And I think of you between the silken sheets 

and of how I used to hold you while asleep. 

And you know that I would never 

wish to make you cry, 

but you knew one day I’d have to say goodbye.
